My Story

After receiving my Masters Degree from the University of Michigan in 2001, I promptly began my work with those with substance use disorders. I have had the opportunity to assist in developing and practicing in treatment sites that provided a full continuum of care for both adolescents and adults. I have also had over eight years experience in crisis intervention for those with severe mental illness. I have since shifted into Hospice work, which is a great passion of mine. I have had great opportunities to walk alongside those at end of life, and also to provide continued bereavement care for families affected by loss. It is my belief that counseling can be deeply transformative and healing.  Often, when faced with loss or mental health concerns, we feel deeply alone and disempowered. I believe counseling is an opportunity to become empowered, to not only make great change within, but also to heal relationships. It is my greatest hope to assist all in becoming that which they strive to be; whether by removing barriers, learning communication and coping skills, or by reminding others of their intrinsic value and worth. It is always a privilege and honor to be a part of someone's journey towards transformation.

I use a variety of modalities;  tailoring to the needs of my clients.  I am versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy,  Internal Family Systems, Strengths Based and Attachment Style frameworks for practice.

I have two beautiful children and a very rambunctious miniature aussiedoodle.  I love all things creative -  art, ceramics, and music and I am in the process of setting up my own ceramics studio in my home. I am an animal lover and I have had some past experiences with equine-assisted psychotherapy.  I love travel and philosophy and I would define myself as a very spiritual person as well.  I cannot wait to meet you where you are at in your journey!
