My Story
In mid November 2010, I opened a practice in Cadillac to offer professional and private counseling for individuals and couples seeking solutions to the challenges and struggles of life. Since then I have had the privilege of working with people with addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, compulsive gambling, suicide, spirituality, and relationship problems. Becoming a business woman in the greater Cadillac area has been a great joy.

In 1991, I graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts in History, Religion and Women's Studies. I found a passion for working with addiction in 1993 at Phoenix Hall for women and later Catholic Human Service. In 2007 I became a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of Michigan and then in 2018 a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. For more than twenty years I have worked with individuals, partners and family members experiencing problems related to substance abuse. Because substance abuse impacts all aspects of a person's life, I have treated trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and pain management. I believe in the healing power of recovery and enjoy seeing families come together.

I am experienced with group, individual, family and marital counseling as well as assessment and referral. The theory I adhere to primarily is Existential with a focus toward theories such as Bowen Family Systems Theory, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Informed Therapies such as Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal and Somatic Experiencing.

It is my belief that counseling is a personal journey. We will work to create a journey that meets your needs and is flexible and meaningful. I enjoy helping you get to the heart of your concerns and address them with your goals in mind. My hope is that you will find healing through our work together. The journey is yours. I hope I have the opportunity to join you in it.
