My Story
We all have parts of our stories that need healing and restoration. I enjoy exploring how the stories we've been told and the stories we tell ourselves shape us and orient us to our present and future. My aim is to create a space of safety and trust to help facilitate growth and healing as we engage your story with compassion, curiosity, and courage.
I provide counseling to those dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, addiction, and grief issues. Some approaches I utilize include EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapy and CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy). I also enjoy integrating somatic and parts work interventions into therapy. I believe counseling is a person-centered and collaborative process, and approaches used will be based on your preferences, goals, and the issues addressed.
I grew up in Iowa but have spent the majority of my post-college years in Michigan. I enjoy spending time with my husband and two kids, sharing meals with friends, hiking, baking, gardening, and starting "weekend" projects that turn into months-long projects.
