My Story

I am generally a Person Centered counselor.  I believe in having high regard for my clients and that I am assisting my client to achieve their goals for better mental health by helping them see negative behaviors and reconstruct these into positive behaviors.  I also practice mindfulness skills and tools to assist my clients to develop better mental health. I interned at The Women's Resource Center in Traverse City with victims of domestic violence, at OASIS Family Resource Center working with children and women affected by interpersonal violence, and at Healing Private Wounds in Cadillac, Michigan, working with victims of sexual abuse.

I am a Michigan native and although I have lived in Texas and visited many other places across America I find Michigan is always my home ground.  I grew up in Farmington Michigan and graduated from Farmington High School.  I have always been a visual artist and have won many awards and have many of my pieces in public and private collections.  I painted a mural at the Marion Public Library in the children's section of the South American Rainforest.  Currently, I live in Marion on a 40 acre farm where I train, raise and often show miniature horses.  I find counseling to be a fulfilling career and enjoy working with individuals who want to have positive mental health.
